The sum of all our goods, and our perfect good, is God. We must not fall short of this, nor seek anything beyond it; the first is dangerous, the other impossible.Just think about those words for a while. Do you seek God as your perfect good or do you substitute lesser goods (or evils) for the greatest Good?
